Job Details

As a Software Engineer in the Automation team at Workfront, you will be responsible for building, maintaining and scaling our CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with the product teams to help select the right tools and technologies to effectively write and execute automated tests that will be running as part of the CI/CD process. 

You will be challenged daily to solve problems, expand your knowledge of the Workfront platform and the technologies that can be used to improve it. You will grow as we do and your technical skills and ownership responsibilities will gradually increase as you move toward the next level. You will actively look for ways to expand our toolset, reduce execution times and optimize the costs of our pipelines.

In the first week, you will

  • Onboard and learn about Workfronts daily routines
  • Meet the team and be presented with the initial set of responsibilities

In the first month, you will

  • Get to know our CI/CD pipelines
  • Learn about our usage of py.test and start working on the framework
  • Do code reviews, mentor and coach Quality Engineers as they begin to write automated tests in Python 

In the first three months, you will

  • Actively work on the scalability of our CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to the design of our Cloud infrastructure required to execute pipelines efficiently
  • Begin working with Product teams to better understand their needs 

In the first six months, you will

  • Become a go-to person for automation related questions and concerns
  • Actively monitor all layers of test automation
  • Suggest and work on improvements based on your findings and market research
  • Have a full understanding of the Cloud infrastructure behind our pipeline and be able to debug potential issues

To land this job you'll need:

  • Eagerness to constantly learn and improve
  • 2+ years Python programming experience, applied knowledge of Python and pytest
  • 4+ years in software testing experience including below-mentioned skills
  • Exposure to the full software development cycle
  • Work experience with Selenium
  • Work experience with API Testing (SOAP / REST)
  • Demonstrated ability to convert project specifications (functional and design) into effective tests scenarios on appropriate layer (unit, integration, E2E)
  • Experience with Agile development practices
  • Understanding of version control software - preferably GIT
  • Fluency in written and spoken English 

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Docker
  • Work experience with CI (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • AWS Knowledge
  • Understanding of UNIX-like operating systems
