In this position, you will help shape the voice of our business and product and help us grow a loyal following amongst our audience of senior global leaders across Marketing, HR, IT and New Product Development. You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to passionately communicate the value our enterprise technology offers people and companies. We are pioneering a new category -- Modern Work Management. This role will help shape our thought leadership in the industry, build a reliable community of influencers, foster relationships with customers and prospects, and directly contribute to revenue for the business.

 

You will develop and co-create materials that drive business leads, educate and engage technical organizations and teams, and establish Workfront an authority amongst our economic buyers, as well as the people who influence them -- from practitioners to C-level executives.  

 

You will master key issues facing our customers and generate original points of view backed by internal and external data. We are looking for a candidate with excellent written communication skills (written skills cannot be emphasized enough), and an innovative approach to content creation across a variety of channels. 

 

You will be part of the global communications team within the marketing organization and report to the Senior Director of Communications. An initial and ongoing key initiative will be to collaborate with members of the marketing, product, product marketing, sales, customer advocacy and other teams to identify and cultivate internal and external thought leaders and subject matter experts. You will work with senior executives and leaders from across the company to surface, shape and articulate compelling ideas and content. 

 

You will be a key contributor to our annual State of Work study, helping shape all aspects of this foundational asset, including generating questions, analyzing data, distilling insights and aligning with the company’s messages to create a compelling and authoritative report. 

The content you create will be utilized globally across public/media relations, demand generation campaigns, our corporate blog, and more.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create, write, edit, and manage the production of the content, and source experts, including external influencers and internal talent.
  • Collaborate with our technology, product and services teams to ensure content is both consistent, and adapted to geographical and cultural considerations.
  • Work cross-functionally with broader marketing team to ensure strategy and execution are consistent and integrated. 
  • Identify the optimal content story and create content that will resonate key personas in the context of Workfront to drive lead generation and brand awareness.
  • Identify the best content format to reach our audiences (e.g., white paper, research note, infographic, ebook, blog post, webinar, podcast, calculator, checklists, quizzes, video, slides, podcast, comparison chart, etc.) based on objectives, distribution channel, and past performance data.
  • Manage a content production budget, and make budget recommendations based on projected impact to marketing KPIs.
  • Manage freelancers and other contributors.
  • Identify content performance KPIs and track the performance of the content. Continue to refine the content strategy based on performance and desired outcomes.
  • Develop and update content, creating innovative ways to engage and grow various audiences. Identify successful content and map out new ways to repurpose (i.e., a blog post into a YouTube video) to amplify the message, visibility and lead generation.
  • Develop and implement content processes and guidelines (including scalable content models, messaging strategies, lead gen marketing tactics, etc.).
  • Test, iterate and explore new acquisition channels based on a sound content and influencer marketing strategy, in partnership with our demand gen team.
  • Verify and understand the personas of our target audience and align content to each point in the customer and buyer journey

Knowledge & Skills

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years of experience in content development and strategy, journalism, or similar.
  • 5+ years experience with demonstrated ability to craft content for a technical audience and on multiple platforms — site copy, emails, landing pages, and blog posts.
  • Know content requirements and best practices for publishing on key content platforms reaching enterprise buyers, such as social channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram), SlideShare, YouTube, email, and syndicated networks.
  • Be comfortable working with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive, and demonstrated experience with key tools for content creation, workflow management, content management, as well as publishing platforms.
  • Experience in content marketing for enterprise software or similar technical audience is a plus.
  • Experience with Content Production, SEO, Analytics (eg. Google Analytics), CRM (eg. Salesforce, Marketo), HTML knowledge preferred
