Job Details

Associate Site Reliability Engineer/SRE1

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting the team in turning high-touch manual processes into fully automatic solutions, and maintaining and improving existing automations.
  • Developing your understanding of automation and orchestration procedures to automate wherever and whenever possible while eliminating technical debt.
  • Working with the team to find optimizations and other efficiencies in order to scale applications and services
  • Communicate end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioural characteristics of the production services you own.
  • Help senior and principal SREs guide development teams to engineer scalable, fail-safe, and optimized solutions to the Workfront product suite.
  • Understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the services you own:
    • Degradation behavior under load
    • Tuning and optimizing resource utilization as load patterns fluctuate
    • Instrumentation and metrics that clearly describe service behaviors
    • Scaling requirements and patterns
    • Resiliency and recoverability; test, maintain and improve existing processes, implement, test, and maintain new processes.

 

What You Need to Do the Job

  • Automation must be part of your DNA. 3-5+ years as a DevOps Engineer, System Engineer, SRE, or Software Engineer (with Operations and Infrastructure experience) with emphasis on automation, orchestration, and software development/design
  • 3-5+ years experience building, provisioning, and operating highly-available and complex services in AWS and/or GCP. Experience in both preferred.
  • 3-5+ years experience in modern development practices (microservices architectures, ReST interfaces, etc.)
  • 3-5+ years experience in software development and/or automation experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl, C/C++/Java. Python preferred.
  • 2+ experience in container management/orchestration. Kubernetes preferred.
  • 2+ experience with other orchestration tools such as Saltstack, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. Saltstack preferred.
  • Solid ability to define and document technical architectures of highly-complex and scalable systems
