DIRECTOR - COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE

Workfront is seeking a rockstar Director of Competitive Intelligence to lead our competitive and market intelligence program and team.  Your primary job will be to gather, analyze, draw insight, and enable Workfront stakeholders to differentiate Workfront in the marketplace. As a member of the Product organization, you will be a member of the product management leadership team and a critical contributor at all levels of the organization, including executives, field-facing roles, product management, partners, and analysts with intelligence to help Workfront achieve its business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the market and competitive intelligence program which informs customer, partner, and product-facing roles within Workfront
  • Manage a team of competitive intelligence professionals 
  • Conduct competitor intelligence research and provide updates on a regular cadence, with a focus on the delivery of accurate, detailed, timely, unbiased, and contextual analysis as a subject matter expert
  • Be the subject matter experts for product, customer experience, marketing, partners, sales, and executive leadership team on competition, market landscape, and technical differentiation
  • Create, maintain, and scale competitive enablement for each department, including positioning and messaging, technical evaluations, and sales plays
  • Engage with industry analysts for market studies and to gain outside perspectives on competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
  • Regularly perform win/loss analysis to adjust go-to-market strategies, replicate winning strategies globally, and provide references of replaced competition
  • Monitor and analyze product, positioning, partnerships and announcements of key competitors and communicate to company leadership and stake holders
  • Undertake frequent interviews with Workfront customers and solution partners to gather competitive intel, trends and insights
  • Occasionally participate in sales calls and on-site visits to help account executives close deals
  • Attend industry conferences as a resource for prospective customers wanting to understand the unique benefits of using Workfront
  • Inform company strategy by using intelligence research to make future predictions of competitor actions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree and 8+ years experience owning and operating a competitive intelligence program
  • Experience working in Enterprise B2B SaaS businesses a plus as well as background in the project/work management, collaboration, and/or productivity applications markets
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to synthesize data from multiple data sources to deliver actionable insight. This entails a strong demonstration in taking market, competitor and customer insights and weaving them into clear, compelling deliverables for sales, product, marketing, services, and the executive leadership team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and conduct executive-level conversations
  • Inquisitive, competitive by nature
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and establish relationships
  • Results-oriented with strong time management skills, highly-organized and driven to succeed
