Analyze on the Spot

Let the Planner Find the Best Fit
With the click of a button, find the best way to allocate your available resources to complete your projects on time.
No project left behind
Add the right projects to the Capacity Planner with a few clicks. It’s easy to see the priority of each project in comparison to the big picture so you add the right projects first. And, if a priority changes, it’s simple to drag and drop projects to reprioritize. Staff your top priority projects first—and then move down the line to make sure the right work is completed on time.
Everything you need on one page
The Capacity Planner clearly outlines your available resources, projects, and your net remaining resources. Select your timeframe to view specific projects that start within the week, month, or year. You can quickly compare how many hours you need from a specific role—such as a developer or a QA team member—to fill a specific task on a project.
Set the best fit for a better outcome
Select Set Best Fit and Workfront does the work for you. The Capacity Planner will automatically allocate the right resources for each of your selected projects, finding the earliest available start time with the fewest over allocations for each project. If any conflicts are found, you can manually overwrite or adjust the planning.
Spend more time leading
You don’t have time to check on every team member’s schedule, especially if you’re working in an Agile setting. With the Capacity Planner, you have resource visibility every step of the way. You can reallocate team members to a top priority project or decide to hire outside help to get the work done.
Start off on the right foot
Create resource pools to populate your Capacity Planner. Your Resource Pool could include a few development team members with a project manager and QA engineer. Once the Resource Pool is created, your project managers can access it anytime they’re planning a new project or sprint.
